Chandler Heights Citrus Irrigation District

Order Irrigation On-Line

CHCID is adding the ability to order and pay for irrigation on-line. Your input is welcome as we strive to improve service and convenience for our residents. Rather than taking a giant leap, we are taking careful, thoughtful steps with our technology upgrades. During Phase #1 we will utilize Paypal - it is easy to use and familiar to many residents. Deadlines for sign up will remain the same - 9:00am on Mondays. Phase #1 will help the Board of Directors and Office Staff design and implement subsequent improvements and capabilities.

This is an optional service. Signing up for water at the board outside the district office will remain available. There are obvious limitations to Paypal, but we consider it a stepping stone to greater things. It will allow us to evaluate the level of resident and commercial customer interest and design a long-term solution that will meet our needs now and grow with us. It is a pay-as-you-go system instead of maintaining a positive account balance with the district office.  We hope this will alleviate the issue of having to run a check to the office at the last minute in order to receive water. All irrigation accounts must still maintain a minimum balance of $15. If you would like to order water on-line and have a balance in excess of $15, you may request a refund of the amount above $15.

Here is how it works

To order residential irrigation:

Water will be ordered in 1/2-hour increments. Enter your block number and last name in the first field and a contact number in the second field. Click on "Add to Cart" - which takes you to a Paypal window. Enter the number of 1/2 hour increments as a "quantity" in the Paypal window. For example, if you wish to order 2.5 hours, you would enter "5" in the quantity field.  Paypal does not understand fractional quantities like "2.5" and so this is how we are working around a Paypal shortcoming. Also, be aware that the rate purchased and the rate your account is assessed may not be the same. The hourly fee charged will be assumed to be from well #6 (for residential irrigation), the highest rate available. You may accrue funds to your account if the water you receive is from a well rated less per hour than well #6. Again, if you have a balance in excess of $15, you may request a refund of the amount above $15.

The order field on the website should look like this:

Note the block number is listed first, then last name

The contact number is only visible to CHCID staff in case we need to reach you about your irrigation.

To order commercial irrigation:

Water will be ordered in whole hour increments. Enter your block number and last name in the first field and a contact number in the second field. Click on "Add to Cart" - which takes you to a Paypal window. Enter the number of hours as a "quantity" in the Paypal window. For example, if you wish to order 8 hours, you would enter "8" in the quantity field.  Again, if you have a balance in excess of your required deposit, you may request a refund of the amount above $15.

Before the question comes up, our irrigation and domestic accounting systems are separate, so we cannot apply irrigation credits to your domestic account at this time.

Got Gaskets? - If some of your irrigation valves are leaking it is likely to be because the gasket is worn out. CHCID does sell gaskets for the most common valves in use, including for the obsolete KT valves.

Long Term Irrigation Schedules - These are the schedules of which weeks during the year your side of the District will receive water. Quick link to north side and south side irrigation sign up schedules for 2010.
